Hello visitors! If you’re new here, welcome, and if you’ve been here before, welcome back! I’m sure things are looking a bit different around here.
What is Sahara’s Space?
Sahara’s Space is an all-encompassing creative outlet designed to showcase my passions, art, creations, innovations and everything in between. Underneath the Sahara’s Space umbrella are two brands; Sahara Shoots and Sahara Speaks.
Sahara Shoots, originally founded in 2017, is my photography outlet. I specialize in portraiture and nature photography and try to capture the natural and beautiful elements of everything and everyone around me.
Sahara Speaks is the latest addition to the Sahara’s Space family and is a personal blog. Sahara Speaks will feature various series, varying from personal experiences to travel and more. The first, and main series will be about my experience with mental health. Another great feature of Sahara Speaks is a series called “The Guest Room,” which features written pieces by people who have been inspired by my Sahara Shoots photography. If you find yourself inspired by a piece, write it up and send it my way for a chance to be featured in The Guest Room.
Who Is sahara?
My name is Sahara (suh-hair-uh) and I am a photographer and blogger (so far) based in Sacramento, California. I was born and raised in the capital city of California, Sacramento, and earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration-Marketing from the University of California, Riverside in 2017. Currently I’m a couple of months shy of earning my Master’s in Marketing Management from the National University of Ireland, Galway!
I grew up in a large family that loved to take road trips so I was exposed to a lot of beautiful landscapes from a young age. All of this travel, mostly throughout the United States, inspired me to have an appreciation and a fascination with the world around me. I had various forms of outlets which showed my appreciation of the world, but the two that have been with me throughout various points of my life were photography and writing.
With the stresses of life and growing up, I lost a bit of my creativity but now that I’m a college graduate and am in the midst of my master’s program, I figured that now would be a great time to get back into my passion projects. I’m only 23 and still figuring out what I want to do career-wise, but I have figured out that I have a passion for creativity and self-expression through photography and writing and I want to share that passion with the world.
Why Sahara’s Space?
I, very fortunately, grew up in a world where the only limits I had were the ones created by myself. It was instilled in me from a young age that if I wanted something, anything, I can make it happen, so long as I put in the work to either find it or make it come true. I was given the resources and if there was something I needed, I had people in my life who could provide those for me or who knew how to help me find them on my own. So many people throughout my life have shared with me their resources, be it in forms of actual resources, words of wisdom, education, stories, or experiences. They’ve taught me that you can do whatever you want as long as you do it with the right mindset, positive intentions, an open mind and a passionate heart.
Sahara’s Space aims to be a source of positivity in the world. It’s here to capture the beauty of our world and share the stories of the people within it. The words of Sahara’s Place will be a resource and a source of hope and kinship for those who need it. Sahara’s Space is a judgement free zone for creators, readers, friends, lovers of the land (and sea), and everyone else few and far between.
