Letting Tarot Decide My Outfit - Part One

In this first edition of Letting Tarot Decide My Outfit, the fates determine my style.

I'm exploring my astrological, witch, and spiritual side and while learning how to read tarot cards, I figured why not let them decide my outfit! It's a fun way for me to learn the meaning of tarot cards, while also getting to wear more of the clothes in my closet! Join me on my journey of tarot styling!

My Process

The process for letting the fates decide my outfit is as simple as choosing a single tarot card. Using my Modern Witch Tarot Card deck, I fanned out the deck and selected the card which gave me the best vibes. The card I ended up choosing was the Nine of Pentacles. My next task from here was to recreate the outfit the woman on the card was wearing using clothes that I already owned!

That’s the catch for this first version of my challenge. Later on, I’ll be doing separate challenges where I have to thrift shop for the outfit, or purchase the outfit online, and other varying factors. The Search

I’m glad I chose my tarot card based on vibes because I ended up pulling a card with an outfit that was fairly simple. When I was first sifting through the deck, I saw quite a few outfits that looked pretty difficult, but I was fortunate to pull one that was at about a 3 out of 10 on the difficulty scale!

I studied the card and made my way to the closet. I knew for sure that I had the black quarter sleeve, so I made a bee-line towards it. Grabbed the shirt, which came from ModCloth, and then headed to grab my pair of light blue jeans. Next, I grabbed my boots, and then took a while trying to find the coveralls! I finally landed on a burnt orange knit dress I got from Ross and figured it would work perfectly, which it did!

The last thing I had to do was find the hat and some carrots!

The Result
