My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

My Sister, the Serial Killer (MSTSK) is my first satirical, thriller/dark comedy and I am hooked on the genre!

I had such a fun time reading this book, partially because it was the second book of my Borderline Millennials Book Club, but also because it was a really great novel! It was the perfect blend of dark comedy and thriller, with an added strong dash of suspense.

The whole time I was reading MSTSK I kept trying to guess what would happen and then continued to read more than the required section for Book Club because I wanted to see if my guesses were right! It was a fun, easy, and smooth read that kept me completely engaged throughout. That’s super rare and really hard to do because my mind is like a dog when it sees a squirrel.

I love so many things about this novel; the details in character descriptions, the complexities of the relationships between the characters, the brevity of the chapters (I’m talking 1-4 pages each), the plot, and the overall tone of the novel. The only grievance I have with MSTSK is that I wish the book ended with more of a BANG!
